SUMMARY:Webinar presentation of the book "Sector coupling. A vision for Spain"
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The integration of gas and electricity systems (sector coupling) is fundamental in reaching emission reduction targets in 2050 and\, in Spain\, can generate savings of more than 2 billion euros a year compared to a system based only on electricity and its storage. \nThis integration allows for a reduction in emissions in sectors where electrification is not feasible\, and makes more complete use of the potential of renewable energies\, contributing significantly to the efficient achievement of objectives established in the European Green Deal. \nNaturgy Foundation is publishing thestudy “Sector coupling. A vision for Spain”\, prepared by the consulting firm Frontier Economics and the German University of Aachen\, which analyses the situation in Europe and Spanish power. \nWebinar duration 45’ \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nWe present you a summary video of 4 minutes:\n[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/HmXTghiGqHs”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:“Air Quality. A modern challenge” exhibition. Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]The exhibition entitled “Air Quality. A modern challenge” and produced by the Naturgy Foundation to help promote environmental training and awareness in society shows how the phenomenon of air pollution is a key factor that determines the health of people and the environment. The implementation of various initiatives by the public authorities\, private businesses and the public will be an essential challenge for meeting the levels set by the World Health Organisation to improve air quality in our environment. \nAgainst this backdrop and among other measures\, the responsible use of energy –and natural gas\, more specifically– as a clean fuel will be a decisive factor in reducing emissions and trying to improve air quality. Commissioned by the expert professor in air pollution\, Dr Xavier Querol\, the exhibition offers tools for understanding and interpreting the key factors that determine air quality through four sections: description of the phenomenon; the underlying causes; the effects it produces; and the solutions for tackling it.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1572346001807{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;padding-left: 25px !important;background-color: #004571 !important;border-radius: 3px !important;}”] \n\n From 8 to 17 November 2019\,\n9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday\nand 10.30 am to 2 pm\non Saturday\, 16 November.\n \nIDEAE-CSIC\nC/ Jordi Girona\, 18-24 08034 Barcelona\n \nFree admission\nMore information at\nexposicionesfundacion@naturgy.com\nor Tel. SUMMARY:Exhibition "La belleza de la máquina. Fotografía industrial de Ramón de Baños (1890-1980)". Barcelona
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Del 7 October to 13 Desember\, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona  presents the exhibition La belleza de la máquina about the most significant artistic work by Ramon de Baños (1890-1980) regarding industrial photography. Thanks to extensive research of the Historical Archive\, today the Naturgy Foundation is releasing an unpublished selection of photographs that rediscover Ramon de Baños\, known until now as a pioneer of Catalan cinema\, as a photographer. The collection of photographs that have been brought to light have their own visual code and offer a new perspective that allows us to enjoy the beauty of industrial photography. These photographs now make up an extraordinary graphic document of a world that no longer exists. \nThe company Catalana de Gas y Electricidad S.A.\, just like many other companies of the time\, carried out photography projects to document and publish its heritage and capacity of production. Despite the first collaborations between Ramon de Baños and Catalana de Gas in 1929 for the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona\, he was not incorporated as a ‘photographer attached to the Technical Services’ until much later. The main project that Ramon de Baños carried out for the company was called 1947 Album\, a collection of 58 photographs of industrial machinery and architecture. It is a collection of images that had a propaganda objective and wanted to show the important asset the company once had\, its modernity and its extraordinary business activity. \nRamon de Baños develops his own photographic style that enables him to embellish and glorify machinery and the industrial landscape. They are well-framed and well-structured pieces with a careful arrangement of the objects represented. The images are not representations of a truthful reality but rather\, while avoiding a human presence\, reveal the architectural magnificence of factories and the beauty of machinery. The theme chosen for 2019\, “Museums as cultural hubs. The future of tradition”\, will focus on the new roles that museums play as active players in their communities. Museums are constantly reinventing themselves so they become even more innovative\, public-focused\, community-oriented\, flexible\, adaptable and mobile. \nThe Bolarque Museum was opened in 1977 with a mission to conserve industrial heritage through its collection\, capable of telling the story of the country’s energy sector. At present\, there are over 1\,000 pieces in the museum collection\, including original items and documents\, period furniture and large machinery. SUMMARY:“Haciendo historia en Panamá y en el mundo” exhibition. Panama City
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text] \nThe Naturgy Foundation exhibition entitled Haciendo historia en Panamá y en el mundo (Making history in Panama and the world) follows Panama’s energy evolution through the social changes that led to the application of new technology and inventions\, and also reflects on the present and future of energy. \nHaciendo historia en Panamá y en el mundo reveals the history and the features of the energy industry in Panama: the introduction of gas street lighting in 1857 and electric street lighting in 1898 placed Panama City on a par with the great global capitals. Following the influence of the United States before Panama became an independent nation in 1903 and a period of nationalisation of energy from 1958 to 1996\, the sector was then privatised and Naturgy arrived on the isthmus in 1998. Over the 20 years in Panama the company has provided innovative energy services\, promoting respect for the environment and efficiency through a responsible use of energy. The company activity carried out on the isthmus has meant the energy demands of over 600\,000 customers have been met through the 781 MVA installed capacity. It has also driven a social programme designed to benefit vulnerable groups. \nThe history of energy reveals that it played a leading role in the progress of society. The advent of public lighting in cities lit up the night and broke the agricultural cycle that had previously prevailed. This saw the birth of a new kind of activity which had been previously unthinkable: cities began offering a host of cultural and entertainment options at night. \nThe exhibition also reflects on the future of energy and the tools available to ensure sustainable energy production. By presenting the different energy alternatives that are available\, the exhibition gives visitors the keys to understanding the advantage and drawbacks of all sources of energy to emphasise that there are no magic formulas for solving our energy needs in the future. The coming decades will be marked by security of supply\, economic costs and their impact on the environment\, as well as mankind’s capacity for technical and social innovation. Encouraging responsible energy consumption with minimal environmental impact through savings and efficiency will be among the crucial issues of our future agenda. \nThe Haciendo historia en Panamá y en el mundo exhibition forms part of the catalogue of educational programmes with which the Naturgy Foundation seeks to convey values on changing the energy model\, conserving the environment and consuming energy responsibly. Founded in 1992 by the power company\, the Naturgy Foundation carries out social action programmes in the countries where the group operates\, with projects adapted to the culture and requirements of the different places. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1557231938929{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;padding-left: 25px !important;background-color: #004571 !important;border-radius: 3px !important;}”] \n\n From 14 May to 12 July 2019\, Monday to Saturday\, 9 am to 5 pm.\n\n \nErnesto J.
