Do we know about the physical principles of these two subjects that have developed our society so much?

[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum brings the exhibition entitled “Want to play? Let’s think about energy!”

An interactive exhibition where you can discover the secrets of gas and electricity as sources of energy through various interactive spaces with educational and fun experiments designed by our team of educators and the famous scientist Dani Jiménez.

The exhibition is divided into two sections: electricity and gas. Stimulate all your senses and try experiencing the nature, creation and distribution of these energies which are so vital to everyday life. Do we know enough about the energy that surrounds us? How can human beings produce energy? How was energy created in the past, without modern-day technology?
What tools are used to produce energy today and why do they reach our homes? What is the economic cost of energy and what efficiency measures can we adopt so we do not waste it?

Electrically surprised

Electricity is such a versatile form of energy that it is used in a large number of ways. When we use it, whether for charging a phone or turning on a computer, we are not aware of the technological effort this entails, nor where the energy comes from.

The experiments in this section make visitors resolve different puzzles about electricity generation and conduction, electric energy that is lost and how it is possible to store it.

Gaseously aware

Natural gas has quietly transformed our lives and since its accidental discovery it has been used to achieve the best energy performance. Its domestic uses provide convenience and comfort to homes from the previous century, and it is currently one of the up-and-coming energies because its depletion forecast has been considerably extended and represents 25% of global energy consumption. The different experiments will explore this in detail.

We communicate with others thanks to energy

A section focusing on sound where visitors will discover that speaking and listening would not be possible without energy in the shape of soundwaves. These mechanical waves, that compress the air like an accordion, are the tortoise of communication. Firstly thanks to the telegraph, then to the telephone and now to the internet we can share information almost instantly, turning the information into electrical signals. This means the information can travel almost one million times faster than sound.

Energy to experience

With a thermal room you will be able to see the infra-red radiation emitted by human bodies and learn that we are thermal machines. In contrast to insects or reptiles, mammals are homeothermic animals and so we always have a stable temperature in our body. Therefore, the chemistry of our organism functions better but we always require energy so the machine does not stop. Whether from macaroons, apples, pears, steaks, salads or a piece of bread, our body extracts the calories and transforms it into energy for living. Without energy, life would be impossible.

The miracle of luminescence

This space is designed so that visitors can draw using the light of a torch. This acts as a paint brush and the wall as a canvas where the public can bring their momentary artwork to life. This is the phenomenon of phosphorescence and it originated from the fact that certain substances have the ability to absorb and store energy to then release it in the form of light.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator border_width=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

The exposition in numbers
[vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”61280″
