Portraits and other fictions from the \u201dla Caixa\u201d Contemporary Art Collection<\/i><\/b>, an exhibition showing 40 of the best-known works by leading artists in the \u201dla Caixa\u201d Contemporary Art Collection. The exhibition explores portraiture, one of art\u2019s most traditional genres, through various works from our era: paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos, drawings and installations that make up the diverse approaches that characterise art today and that invite viewers to reflect on the social space of the portraits.<\/p>\n<p>This selection illustrates the cross-cutting method of \u201dla Caixa\u201d\u2019s Contemporary Art Collection, which starts in the 1980s and stretches to the young creators of today; a group of artists spanning every nationality, style and trend: Ana Laura Al\u00e1ez, Janine Antoni, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Christian Boltanski, Victoria Civera, Rineke Dijkstra, Marlene Dumas, Esther Ferrer, G\u00fcnther F\u00f6rg, Curro Gonz\u00e1lez, Stefan Habl\u00fctzel, Roni Horn, Sharon Lockhart, Pedro Mora, Vik Muniz, \u00d3scar Mu\u00f1oz, Bruce Nauman, Carlos Pazos, Cindy Sherman, Antoni T\u00e0pies, Gillian Wearing and Sue Williams. <i>Look at me!<\/i> is divided into four sections that arrange the works according to their conceptual affinities: Emotion on stage, Identity conventions, Memory of the face, and Masks and other fictions.
