The Naturgy Foundation and Accem will collaborate to improve the energy efficiency of homes of families that are at risk of social exclusion and are under the care of the NGO. Thanks to the Energy Rehabilitation Solidarity Fund of the energy company\u2019s foundation, activities will be able to be carried out in around 15 properties.<\/p>\n

The Managing Director of the Naturgy Foundation,\u00a0Mar\u00eda Eugenia Coronado<\/b>, explained: \u201cThanks to the extension of the lines of collaboration we have with administrations and organisations in the third sector, we are reinforcing the activity of our Energy Rehabilitation Solidarity Fund, which we want to contribute to the fight against energy poverty.\u201d<\/p>\n

The agreement follows on from those already signed with other social organisations (Foment de l\u2019Habitatge Social, H\u00e1bitat 3, Fundaci\u00f3n para la Caridad de la Construcci\u00f3n, from C\u00e1ritas, Mambr\u00e9 Foundation and Tengo Hogar Foundation) which already have access to the Energy Refurbishment Solidarity Fund to carry out works for rehabilitation, installations and efficiency in the flats they manage.<\/p>\n

This new agreement will make it possible for actions to continue in accordance with the guidelines from the \u201cRe-habilitaci\u00f3n expr\u00e9s para hogares vulnerables\u201d<\/a> study. This publication, sponsored by the Naturgy Foundation, promotes energy efficiency improvements in vulnerable homes, at a low cost but with a big impact on people\u2019s quality of life and on family energy bills. The measures established include repairing and purchasing heating systems and window closures and glazing, fixing and installing electricity and gas equipment, and anything that will improve the general energy efficiency of homes.<\/p>\n

This agreement with Accem is in line with the National Strategy to tackle Energy Poverty 2019-2024<\/b>, which establishes energy refurbishment of properties as one of the short-, medium- and long-term lines of action to address this problem structurally. It is also part of Naturgy\u2019s Energy Vulnerability Plan<\/b>, which aims to improve the quality of life of groups affected by energy poverty and their assessment in terms of energy consumption and the payment of energy services.<\/p>\n

Set up by the power company in 1992, the Naturgy Foundation <\/b>seeks to educate, train, inform and raise awareness throughout society of energy and environmental issues. It also develops social action programmes both nationally and internationally, in particular by supporting initiatives aimed at alleviating energy vulnerability.<\/p>\n

Accem<\/b> is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to defend the fundamental rights of, care for and accompany people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion who are looking for integration and independence in society while encouraging solidarity. Accem operates at a state level in 12 regions, as well as in Ceuta and Melilla, and is recognised as a public interest organisation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

With this new collaboration there are now six social organisations that can benefit from the Naturgy Foundation's Energy Rehabilitation Solidarity Fund to improve living conditions and energy efficiency in the properties of vulnerable families.<\/p>\n
