Polit\u00e9cnico de Santiago, in Santiago de Compostela, where about 60 students from the intermediate career and technical education course in Electromechanics for Vehicles and the advanced career and technical education course in the Automotive Industry will be the first to benefit from this collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement with the regional government will enable the energy company\u2019s foundation to collaborate in updating the region\u2019s vocational training programmes with subjects relating to the energy sector. It will also enable the students to undertake internships in collaborating companies in the sector, with the aim of complementing the professional skills acquired by the students.<\/p>\n<p>Coronado said: \u201cIt is very important that vocational training be aligned with the requirements of the labour market,\u201d and in this specific case she highlighted the importance of promoting content that includes business development and sustainable economics. \u201cThe energy sector is constantly changing, technology is progressing ever more quickly and companies should contribute to updating the course content to make it easier for young people to enter the job market,\u201d said Coronado.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the framework agreement signed today, the Naturgy Foundation will provide educational resources to education centres and will hold courses for teachers to provide them with updated knowledge about the new technology in the sector. The first training sessions have already been held with teachers from the Polit\u00e9cnico de Santiago.<\/p>\n<p>After this, around 300 students attended a talk about implementing natural gas as a fuel for vehicles, in which councillor <strong>Carmen Pomar<\/strong> and the managing director of the Naturgy Foundation, <strong>Mar\u00eda Eugenia Coronado<\/strong>, participated. The technician from the climate change strategy department in the regional government of Galicia, <strong>C\u00e9sar Berm\u00fadez<\/strong>, also took part and spoke about the environmental impact of transport, while the head of technical training at SCANIA, <strong>Justo Figueroa<\/strong>, spoke about natural gas from a more technical point of view.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students from the C.I.F.P.
