The schools in Tarragona participating this year in the scheme are: Baltasar Seg\u00fa and Cor de Maria, in Valls, and Joan XXIII and Escola Pr\u00e0ctiques, in Tarragona. In total, forty workshops will be held. They will all adhere to strict safety measures complying with Covid regulations to guarantee students\u2019 safety.<\/p>\n

After these sessions, the scheme will continue throughout the year, with contents on energy in the area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), adapted to all the levels of the school curricula. The objective is also to promote and encourage working in the technology sector from very early on.<\/p>\n

Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy works to give the youngest in our community the most up-to-date knowledge on new energy technologies, such as renewable gas and its role in the circular economy, and the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.<\/p>\n

Yolanda Roure, teacher at Escola Joan XXIII,<\/strong> from Bonavista, gave a very positive evaluation of the workshop attended by her year 6 students and said that the contents were \u201cvery practical and adapted to the course curriculum\u201d. \u201cIt was a good introduction to the themes we deal with during the year and, by being able to use the \u2018working in corners\u2019 method, the children really enjoyed and learned a great deal\u201d, she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur aim for teachers and students to have access to the most up-to-date technological knowledge for energy. That\u2019s why we also offer schools extra educational materials to work with independently in class, such as our Energykits, online apps, the Learning-Service scheme or the Efigy Technology Contest\u201d, said the Head of Education and Learning at Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy, Eva Buch.<\/strong> \u201cFurthermore, we will offer support from the professionals in our company to teachers, so they can learn the latest about energy, the environment and energy efficiency\u201d, adds Buch.<\/p>\n

Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy and its educational vocation<\/p>\n

Efigy Education is the main educational scheme from Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy which, since 2012 and through different initiatives, has been recognised by and has worked with top institutions in the areas of education and research, such as the Spanish Science and Technology Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Community of Madrid, the Barcelona Education Consortium, Higher Council for Scientific Research and the Madri + D Foundation.<\/p>\n

Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy aims, among its various initiatives, to impart specialist knowledge on new energy technologies and the keys to the transition towards a more sustainable energy system, as well as raising awareness about its values regarding environmental preservation and responsible energy consumption. Created in 1992 by the energy company, it also develops social action schemes both nationally and internationally, principally including initiatives aimed at easing energy vulnerability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

More than a thousand primary school students from Valls and Tarragona are participating in these days at workshops on the current energy challenges and new energy technologies given by Fundaci\u00f3 Naturgy at educational centres in both towns.
