This initiative is part of the new Efigy Education outreach programme that is expected to reach 12,000 students across Spain this year.<\/p>\n<p>The schools participating in the programme this academic year are: Colegio Pluriling\u00fce San Jos\u00e9 de Cluny in Santiago de Compostela; CEIP Pluriling\u00fce R\u00eda do Burgo in Culleredo; CPI O Cruce in Cerceda; Colexio Fingoi and Colegio Rosal\u00eda de Castro in Lugo; and Colegio Divina Pastora in Orense.<\/p>\n<p>Around 60 face-to-face workshops will be held with strict safety measures that comply with Covid regulations to ensure students\u2019 safety.<\/p>\n<p>Mar\u00eda Castelao, a teacher at San Jos\u00e9 de Cluny school, is taking part for the second year running and rated the activity very positively \u201cbecause the children can use play to draw their own conclusions about the sustainable economy and how to achieve a real energy transition, and it gives us an introduction to content in the curriculum on energy sources and their impact.\u201d Sonia Blanco, a teacher at the same school, explained that the activities motivate students because \u201cthey\u2019re based on experimental learning and they help them relate their knowledge to the very near future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the sessions, the programme will continue throughout the school year with content on energy within the scope of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), adapted to all levels of the school curriculum. The aim is also to promote technology professions from a very young age.<\/p>\n<p>The Naturgy Foundation makes current knowledge about new energy technology, such as renewable gas and its role in the circular economy, and the transition towards a more sustainable energy system, more accessible to the youngest generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe aim to give teachers and students access to the most up-to-date technical information on energy and that\u2019s why we also provide schools with additional teaching materials so they can work independently in the classroom. These include our Energykits, online apps, the Service-Learning programme and the Efigy Technology Competition,\u201d explains <b>Eva Buch<\/b>, head of Education and Dissemination at the Naturgy Foundation.
