Certificate ceremony for the VNG Conversion Technicians Training Programme

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation has carried out the technical specialists Training Programme in Colombia since 2007. This programme aims to train technicians specialising in automobile mechanics and vehicular natural gas installations in order to gain the required labour skills.

On 18 February 2015, the certificate ceremony took place for technicians specialising in converting vehicles from petrol to natural gas who were trained by the Vehicular Natural Gas (VNG) Technicians Training Programme from the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation. The event was held in the Gas Natural Fenosa headquarters in Bogota and the certificates were awarded to the technicians by Maria Pilar Jaramillo, Gas Natural Fenosa Colombia Communication Department, on behalf of the Foundation; Claudia Marcela de la Plaza, on behalf of West Arco; and Javier Escobar, on behalf of Gas Natural Fenosa Colombia.

54 technicians were certified, having trained on the courses throughout 2014.

This programme aims to train technicians specialising in automobile mechanics and vehicular natural gas installations in order to gain the required labour skills. The programme includes 400 hours of training within a maximum period of six months.

The training content is made up from the following areas: Fundamental parts of a petrol engine. Basic electricity. Petrol engine systems. Diagnostic equipment. Combustion readings. Analysis of electronic control systems and vehicular natural gas conversion systems.

Since the programme started in 2007, 600 technicians have been trained, 82 workshops have been held and it has been carried out in the cities and regions of Bogota and Bucaramanga.

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation

The Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation, founded in 1992, targets its activity at the promotion of information, training and increased social awareness on improving energy efficiency and technological innovation in the field of energy while respecting and protecting the environment, and promotes cultural activities through the Gas Museum aimed at preserving and spreading knowledge about the historical and cultural heritage of the sector. Its international operations take place in Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Morocco, Italy and Moldova.
