Energytruck. A travelling exhibition that will travel around Spain by truck throughout 2016

Today at the Barcelona headquarters, the Chairman of Gas Natural, Salvador Gabarró, the Managing Director of the Gas Natural Foundation, Martí Solà and the Councillor of Business and Employment in the Regional Government of Catalonia, opened the Energytruck travelling exhibition, which will travel around 111 towns in Catalonia and Spain throughout 2016 in a dual motor truck.

The exhibition, which is designed by the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation Gas Museum aims to provide society with knowledge relating to energy, the environment and industrial heritage in a fun and interactive way. This is a unique travelling exhibition where visitors can discover how technological advances led to progress in society, the historical changes and the advance that led to more common use of gas and electricity. It also looks at how we can consume energy responsibly and considers the future to see if it will be sustainable.

The truck is equipped with a natural gas twin engine that produces between 15% and 20% less CO2 than conventional diesel engines. The 70-square metres boast a wide range of technological equipment, including audio-visual, interactive and multimedia content, as well as information panels. It is a completely interactive exhibition where visitors will be able to experiment with the content through practical activities centred around them.

Free educational activities

The project also includes workshops and educational activities led by specialised educators, who will share their knowledge of science and technology by using information panels and digital content. The activities are suitable for all ages, are adapted for people with disabilities and are free. Visitors may take part via independent or school group visits, which are organised for Nursery groups to Upper Secondary School and Training Stage groups. The tasks will be adapted to each age group and the workshops will be made up of both a theoretical and practical part.
