Naturgy Foundation hosts the Plenary Meeting of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology’s Foundations Council

On June 14, Fundación Naturgy hosted in Madrid the Plenary Meeting of the Council of Foundations of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The event, at which the private Spanish foundations from the science and technology field shared their visions and good practices, was attended by Eva Buch, Naturgy Foundation’s Education Director, and Imma Aguilar General Manager of FECYT. During the meeting, the attendees discussed the latest methodologies and experiences in citizen participation in technology.

In her speech, Eva Buch said she was delighted to be hosting such a meeting at the Foundation’s headquarters. “In addition to our programmes to positively impact society and to promote a just energy transition, the Naturgy Foundation is committed to working hand in hand with pioneer institutions that promote and drive science, technology and innovation in Spain.”

After the debate, the Foundations Council visited the Network Operations Centre (NOC) accompanied by Laura Varela, NOC Director at Naturgy.

About the Science Foundations Council

In 2014, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology promoted the creation of the Science Foundations Council to bring together private foundations that work in science, technology and innovation to exchange knowledge, share good practices and create collaborative projects.

The work carried out by these foundations has several benefits for Spanish society overall: encouraging scientific activity by funding research projects; creating knowledge through their research activity; stimulating careers in science and retaining Spanish talent through pre- and post-doctoral contracts; promoting and disseminating scientific knowledge and interest from a young age, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.
