Juli Batllevell, a forgotten Gaudinian

Juli Batllevell i Arús (Sabadell, 1864 – Barcelona, 1928) is the author, among many other works, of the building that housed the factory La Energía, currently the headquarters of the Gas Museum of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation. During his tenure as municipal architect of Sabadell, Juli Batllevell makes several improvements in the urban layout and projects emblematic buildings, among which stand out the Suís Hotel or the Euterpe Theater. He worked in a timely manner next to the architect of Reus, both at Casa Calvet and at Park Güell. With all Batllevell would not become a disciple of Gaudí, but remained in a plurality of styles, ranging from Modernism to Eclecticism and the more advanced, Noucentisme.
