The Chairman of Naturgy, Francisco Reynés, today met with students from the Efigy Girls initiative: eight groups of girls sponsored by the foundation to participate in the technology competition FIRST LEGO League Spain. Of the one thousand participating teams, two of the Efigy Girls teams qualified for the Spanish final.
Schools from seven Autonomous Communities move on to the semi-final of the 2nd Efigy Technology Competition organised by the Naturgy Foundation
Students in their final year of secondary education have reached the semi-finals of this competition, which aims to promote technological vocations and energy efficiency among young people.
As a new feature this year, the public can vote for their favourite project on the Naturgy Foundation’s social media profiles until Sunday.
A total of fourteen projects from schools all over Spain are competing for the prizes in the different categories, which will be announced during an online gala on 21 May.

The Limahana Efigy Girls team, supported and mentored by the Naturgy Foundation, has won the Innovation Project Prize at the First Lego League tournament held on Saturday, 8 February, at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The schools relying on the collaboration of the Naturgy Foundation are the ones in the provinces of A Coruña, Alicante, Pontevedra, Tarragona, Barcelona and Madrid.
The entity will collaborate with the Scientia Foundation, which endorses this international programme to promote the science and technology professions among young children, and this year, for the first time, it is promoting the participation of teams consisting solely of girls.
