This weekend, a group of Naturgy Foundation environmental volunteers collected almost 600 kg of waste from the Mandeo-Betanzo natural habitat. This is the third time in less than a year that these habitat recovery works have been carried out with the Fraga do Mandeo Foundation. Since this collaboration started, the environmental volunteers have collected about 900 kg of waste and have removed about 600 kg of invasive species.

In the five years of the Naturgy Foundation’s Environmental Volunteering Programme, close on 1,100 volunteers have helped in the environmental recovery of 25 natural spaces around Spain with a surface area equivalent to 15 football pitches. In this time, they have taken part in 40 environmental flora and fauna recovery projects in protected ecosystems around Spain in partnership with 40 environmental organisations and local authorities.
