We offer a free practical training course on electricity grid digitisation.
This course is certified by the competent educational authorities and is taught by specialised professionals.
Course aim
The electricity grid is currently partially sensor-equipped and digitised. Digitisation can be used to obtain knowledge about the most important parameters of the grid and operate some switches remotely. This means the grid can be operated in real time, minimising the impact of overloads or breakdowns. To achieve this, the grid has an overlapping communications network and a large number of installed sensors, plus specific communication protocols that guarantee that data is received in real time and with sufficient quality.
Methodology
Sessions can be followed online. The virtual classroom enables students to ask questions via chat or live audio.
Online sessions follow a presentation format, where the trainer explains the contents of the session, interacting with the participants and answering questions. The sessions will alternate between more practical cases, where participants will present their thoughts on and solutions to previously raised problems, and the learning-by-doing methodology, where they learn by dealing with real problems.
Professional categories and training
Knowledge of electricity grid digitisation is applicable to several professional categories, such as: “Computing and Communications”, “Electricity and Electronics”, “Energy and Water” and “Installation and Maintenance”, within which various training cycles and occupational certificates can be found to which this content can be associated.
Recipients
The programme targets primarily preferably teachers in the professional category of “Computing and Communications”, “Electricity and Electronics”, “Energy and Water” or “Installation and Maintenance”. Prior computing knowledge is required. They will be given tips and teaching materials in order to be able to transmit what they have learnt to their students.
