Encouraging female STEAM vocations in the field of energy
Efigy Girls is an initiative promoted by the Foundation to encourage female talent in STEAM disciplines within the field of energy.
This educational proposal, within the framework of the Efigy Education Programme, seeks to awaken interest in STEAM disciplines among girls through innovative training experiences based on collaboration and teamwork. The training programme, which was implemented in highly specialised schools in Spain in September 2023 and which has the support of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Institute for Just Transition, will last for three years.
The Efigy Girls educational proposal –promoted by the Naturgy Foundation as an expression of its commitment to talent and equal opportunities for girls– focuses on robotics, technology, science, energy, environmental efficiency through innovation, creativity, teamwork and collaboration.
Aims of the initiative

To foster technological skills among girls through a collaborative sustainability challenge to promote STEAM vocations in highly specialised environments.

To promote an active approach to learning by solving different situations in the context of sustainability, environment and energy.

To develop a deep understanding of global environmental issues, coming to appreciate the impact of their actions on society at large.
An educational initiative to promote girls’ access to STEAM, aligned with the strategic objectives of the global education agenda.
Participation criteria
- Prove to be a school centre classified as highly specialised.
- Participate with a group of between 6 and 10 pupils from 4th year of primary education to 2nd year of compulsory secondary education (ESO).
- Sign a commitment to participate during the 3 years of the programme, providing a solution to the challenge proposed annually and using the contents and materials made available to the school for this purpose.
- Participate and present a solution at the final event.
- Work collaboratively to provide a collective solution, integrating each individual solution.
