• Spanish schools are eligible for this scholarship initiative. The Foundation will select 12 groups made up of between 6 and 10 pupils from 4th year of primary education to 2nd year of compulsory secondary education (ESO).
  • The educational activity will take place at the school itself, which will select the team members as it sees fit. The reason being so that students with genuine interest, need for talent development or motivation can develop their abilities and make the most of this educational experience.
  • The programme will be framed around solving a common challenge in the field of energy, to ensure that the energy transition objectives are met. Various challenges will be presented throughout the three years of the programme: Sustainable Cities (2023-2024), Green Energy (2024-2025) and New Mobility (2025-2026).
  • Learning through challenges requires students to think critically and solve problems creatively. Students will learn to evaluate different solutions and make decisions, while collaborating, communicating and sharing ideas, working together, to achieve a common goal.
  • To solve the challenge, the teams will have access to educational content integrated into a digital platform and will work with a LEGO SPIKE Prime robot that they will have to programme to solve the challenge. This way, participants will develop STEM skills in the digital and computational fields, abstract and critical thinking, programming, cooperation, environmental knowledge, and communication.
  • All teams will be coordinated by a teacher from the school who will receive specific training in the use of the educational platform where the content and pedagogical material of the STEM programme is hosted.
  • The 12 Efigy Girls teams will cooperate and share their solutions throughout their participation in the programme in order to pool knowledge and experience. To do so, they will have an interactive space on the platform, where they will be able to share ideas with other participating schools. At the end of each school year, the 12 teams will also resent their proposed solutions at a final event that will be organised in recognition of their work. At the event, the participants will have the opportunity to explain their proposal, get to know each other and share experiences, and integrate their contribution into a joint solution that will incorporate the perspective of all the Efigy Girls teams.
