Mentoring #EfigyGirls at the First Lego League in Spain

The Naturgy Foundation has been giving its support since 2019 to the GIRLS FIRST initiative launched by the Scientia Foundation, the organiser of the FIRST LEGO League in Spain. This international programme promotes science and technology among young children to encourage an early vocation for STEM disciplines.

This school programme promotes the participation of teams consisting exclusively of girls aged 10 to 16. Calling themselves #EfigyGirls, eight teams of girls have been receiving support from the Naturgy Foundation, as their main collaborator and mentor, with the aim of developing projects relating to innovation in the field of energy and the theme of the challenge. We have been providing these #EfigyGirls with the material required for participating in tournaments and with training and advice from the company’s professional experts for carrying out competing projects.

Our teams come from the following schools: the Institut Juan Manuel Zafra (Barcelona); the IES Ull del Vent de La Bisbal del Penedès (Tarragona); the Institut Manuel Vázquez Montalbán de Sant Adrià de Besós (Barcelona); the IES Rego de Trabe de Culleredo (A Coruña); the Colegio Las Acacias-Montecastelo de Vigo (Pontevedra); the Senara and María Inmaculada (Madrid) and the IES San Vicente de San Vicente del Raspeig (Alicante).
