With the aim of educating and raising awareness in society about issues relating to energy and using it efficiently, the Naturgy Foundation has implemented a programme of educational activities for 3 to 16-year-olds at the wind farm in Merengue (in Plasencia, Cáceres) and the photovoltaic plant in Carpio (in Carpio del Tajo, Toledo) as part of its educational programme.
On 8 April the Naturgy Foundation and Pepe the robot took part in the 2019 Inspirational Festival, organised by IAB Spain and held at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, to convey the company’s commitment to innovation and show how atmospheric pollution is a key factor in determining the health of people and the environment.
The aim of this initiative, designed for 9 to 11-year-old primary school students and 11 to 13-year-old secondary students from the Community of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha, is to teach about scientific work and professionals.
The competition is a joint project of private Spanish foundations who, in collaboration with FECYT, promote the development of STEM skills.
The exhibition “Want to Play? Let’s think about energy”, which was opened in July at the Fontao Mining Museum by the Director of Education, Dissemination and Heritage of the Naturgy Foundation, Eva Buch, the Mayor of Vila de Cruces, Jesús Otero, the General Secretary of Language Policy of the Regional Government of Galicia, Valentín García, and the Regional Head of the Department of Economy, Employment and Industry, Ignacio Rial Santomé, will be extended until 24 March 2019.
