Presentation of the book “Sector coupling. A vision for Spain”
The integration of gas and electricity systems (sector coupling) is fundamental in reaching emission reduction targets in 2050 and, in Spain, can generate savings of more than 2 billion euros a year compared to a system based only on electricity and its storage.

2019 Report. The Spanish power sector in numbers
We present the second annual report on “The Spanish power sector in numbers”, which simply outlines all the official data published on this activity, with a particular emphasis on the economic data. The report collates and organises all the information for 2019 and complements it with the information from between 2015 and 2019 in order to better understand the evolution of this economic sector.
Renewable gases. An emerging energy carrier
The large-scale introduction of renewable gases in Spain could reduce the greenhouse gas emission levels forecast for 2030 by over 10%. In order to do so, we need policies focused on the use and implantation of this new energy carrier. These are some of the main conclusions drawn in the new book published by the Naturgy Foundation, “Renewable Gases. An emerging energy carrier.”
Evolution of greenhouse gas emissions in Spain 2005-2018
The study shows the evolution of greenhouse gas emissions in Spain since the implementation of the trading scheme began. The authors collated and analysed the emissions data by sector and economic activity, and their evolution over the period amounted to a 25% reduction.

Economic and financial situation of the main companies in the Spanish power sector 2016-2018
The objective of this document, which was created by the Naturgy Foundation, is to present the economic and financial situation of the electricity activities (aggregated generation and marketing, and distribution) of the main companies in the sector in Spain. That is why the information contained in its audited financial statements has been collected, analysed and aggregated. For the purposes of this document, the references made to the energy sector or energy activities in Spain must be understood as corresponding to the companies analysed.
2018 Report. The Spanish power sector in numbers
The power sector in almost all countries, and certainly in Spain, is heavily regulated. That is why various public bodies and institutions control and monitor its activities and results. As a consequence, every year a very large amount of technical, operational and economic data on the activity of the sector are published, overwhelming the attention of business leaders, the media and the general public. In Spain, the publications of the Ministry in charge of energy matters, the regulatory bodies, the system operator and the companies themselves stand out due to their importance. Faced with this situation, the Naturgy Foundation has decided to initiate the annual publication of a report that collects, groups and presents in a broad, comprehensive and simple way, the data of the Spanish gas sector for each calendar year, with special emphasis on those of an economic nature.
The gas rate. From costs to final price
Spain is undergoing an energy transition process marked by the ambitious objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting renewable energies established by the European Union, which above all involve the gradual elimination of fossil fuels. These targets include reaching 20% of energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020 and 32% by 2030, according to the agreement reached in June 2018 by the Commission, Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
